Weta is the common name for a group of about 70 insect
species in the family’s anostostomatidae and rhaphidophoridae,
Endemic to new zealand.
APPEARANCE
Is the bigger version of an cockroach because cockroaches have six legs
The weta has long skinny antennas
The weta is big/small maybe even medium
HABBIT
Weta’s can live in holes,caves and hollow tree trunks
Weta can live in places where there are leaves an it is dark.
LIFE CYCLE
Eggs are laid in winter and it hatches in spring.
Then from eggs it goes to nymph.
Then from nymphs it turn into an adult
THREATS
- Weta’s have been eaten by birds, reptiles and bats.
- Weta’s habitats have been destroyed from humans
- Weta also been eaten by rats,stoats,weasels,ferrets,cats and hedgehogs.
- People are threats to weta’s because they destroys
